I saw your Facebook page today. I’m glad you find it relevant that the state of Georgia is letting the Sons of Confederate Veterans sport a Confederate flag on their license plates. I get it; you were born there so its important to you. What I don’t get is your comment on it (emphasis mine):
Lawsuit (from people who are offended, even though no one is forcing them to buy this licence plate) in 3…2…1….
Seriously? Do you not remember the shootings in Charleston? Do you not remember that the shooter was an avowed racist and was more than happy to display the flag of the Confederacy? Do you not remember that this guy wanted to start a race war? Did you think that maybe, just maybe, they actually might have a reason to be offended and might have a damn good reason to sue over this? Did all of that absolutely escape your thought processes when you posted that link and made that comment? Were you even thinking at all?
I’ve known you for 26 years. I know that for whatever reason, you feel you have to be right. But you are so wrong on this it isn’t even funny. And yes, I’d love to take you to task over this on FB but I’ve pretty much said I don’t want to deal with that sort of drama. You enjoy it so much but I find it exhausting. So I’ll just say it all here: I cannot believe that you of all people would post this. I simply can’t. It’s like I don’t even know you anymore.
Or maybe, I never really did.
