Merry Sithmas! (Spoilers Within)

Christmas day was a muted affair here at the Prime residence; the man-bot and I basically watched episodes of Transformers: Robots in  Disguise. Instead, our celebration was a day earlier, as we hit the local theatre and saw The Force Awakens. I’ve cobbled together a few thoughts about the movie and yes, they contain spoilers so if you don’t want to know, don’t read past this point.

-Having the movie start exactly as the original trilogy was a huge walk down amnesia lane and left me with a big grin on my face. Nice touch, guys.

-BB-8 is freaking adorable and has now won a place in my heart.

-Finn is awesome and his backstory is something I want explored: it is great to see a Storm Trooper with a crisis of conscience and seeing him throwing off the armor because of it. His personality is also infectious, as is his enthusiasm. I loved him immediately.

-Rey = amazing. ‘Nuff said.

-I am not a heavy-duty shipper but I’m shipping the hell out of Rey/Finn. This is a first for me.

-A female Storm Trooper? Yes, please.

-Kylo Ren is a snot. A whiny snot who throws massive tantrums. Yet I want to know more about him.

-C-3PO still has timing issues. But that’s why I love him.

-Maz is freaking awesome. I want to see more of her.

-Seeing Chewie going completely apeshit during the *BIG MOMENT* pretty much matched exactly how I felt. I just wish he had managed to aim for Kylo’s face. Or his chest. Or his groin. (And I can’t help but think that the only way Ren is going to redeem himself is via heroic sacrifice.)

-The best line in the movie was a grand total of two words: Droid, please!

-Seeing Leia and Han together again: the feels. All of them.

-I can’t wait for the next installment. How long do I have to wait again?

So, what did you think? Loved it? Hated it? Finally got hooked on Star Wars because of it? Let me know in comments. Until next time!

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.

Me and Joe loved the movie for many of the reasons stated and more. Can’t wait for Rogue One in ’16! 🙂
