I found this little diamond both at Joe.My.God and Dispatches From The Culture Wars. It’s so bad, that it’s bad: According to Mr. Frothy Mix himself, liberals should go after violent video games and movies.
I am not making this up (NSFW linkage added for comedic effect):
“Violence in television and the video games — there is a mountain of evidence out there, psychological evidence, about what we’re doing to our young people with these video games, violent video games, and you never hear the left trying to go after Hollywood or the gaming market,” Santorum exclaimed.
Okay, let’s get something straight here: the shooter was 64 years old. This was absolutely not a young kid. This was an older guy. But it gets worse because of course it does (NSFW linkage added for comedy):
“It is never involved in this discussion. Where is the solution? Here we are. Where is the solution?”
He complained that Democrats had inaccurately blamed firearms for gun violence instead of movies.
“Always gun control,” Santorum said. “It is never about the violence we have in our society, it is never about what Hollywood, you know, contribution to that.”
Unless that gun could shoot CDs or other media, I seriously doubt that media violence has anything at all to do with this. But what the slag do I know? Now if you’ll pardon me, I’m going to go watch a few kitten videos, lest my IQ drop any damn further. I’m out.
