Morning Coffee: Cup Thirty-Four

morning_coffeeToday’s post–and good mood–is brought to you by: Fudge Swirl from Berres Brothers.

It’s time for another Morning Coffee post, where I post random and assorted BS for your potential reading (dis)pleasure. There are some minor movie spoilers contained below the jump, so be warned. In the words of Marvin Gaye: Let’s get it on!

-Remember how I mentioned that some of the trees were still holding on to their leaves? Yeah, those leaves are now very dead and dropping like there’s no tomorrow. As I said, it’s a losing battle. I’m just glad that I don’t have to rake.

-Christmas shopping is in full swing. We’re getting busier at work and most of the carts are filled with gift items. Well, it is that time of year again. Yay.

-Luckily, I really won’t have to deal with Black Friday. I’m off that day and on top of that, Costco doesn’t really do Black Friday. We’ve had deals going on throughout the month, so there’s no huge need to be at the warehouse at five in the morning the day after Turkey Day. Oh, and don’t bother showing up on Thanksgiving, as Costco is closed that day.

-Prime and I saw Thor: Ragnarok recently. It’s a damn fun movie and I highly recommend it. And I can see Loki setting up to redeem himself later on, but he’ll do it on his own terms. (He’ll also never quite lose the Trickster element to his personality. Like I said, he’ll do things on his own damn terms but I don’t see him as a straight-up villain anymore.)

-Thanks a lot, Troll-tendo: Seems my decision was made for me. I’m going with Ultra Sun, because of one of the version exclusive Pokemon. In Haina Desert, you can find either Baltoy in Ultra Moon or Golett in Ultra Sun. Since I need a Golurk on my team always, the decision has been made. Ultra Sun and Solgaleo it is.

-Speaking of Pokemon, I have my team picked. They’re all level one and have been either rescued or bred; three of them are shiny. I’ll be starting out with an Elekid (Loki), Riolu (GTS trade from Sinnoh back in the day), Tyrunt (Grimlock), and Dewpider (Diver). I’m currently getting the ones from the previous Gens Gen VI ribbons, which might take me a while. That’s actually not so bad, as we just ordered the games last week and they won’t be here until Wednesday. I have a while to wait so I gotta do something in the meantime.

-Apparently, the Japanese Amazon reviews for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are not that great. In fact, it seems to be one of the lowest rated pairs of Pokemon games yet. GameFreak is going to have to step up their game when they make the leap to the Nintendo Switch.

-I bought one of those 20th anniversary Tamagotchis. Man, this brings back memories.

-Prime and I managed to score the latest Hallmark Transformers ornament. The box isn’t in the greatest of shape; someone opened it up, looked at the figure and shoved it back in without any care whatsoever, which is the only reason why it was still at Kohl’s and we could buy it. This year’s ornament was Soundwave and I can’t help but think he was the “victim” of recognition, i.e. “Oh hey, I had that guy” syndrome. We’ve been collecting these since they first started up four years ago and we never had any trouble until this year. Man, I don’t know if I want them to make a Bumblebee ornament; if I couldn’t find him, I’d rage.

-We’ve already had some snow. Thankfully, it didn’t stick around but the fact that we had some is depressing. Because we all know it’s coming.

-Prime and I have been collecting Kinder Joy Eggs in order to get the Transformer figures inside them. We have a decent collection but neither one of us have seen Optimus Prime in all of the Eggs we’ve opened. It’s annoying but at least I have a decent source of chocolate now.

And that should just about do it! Tune in next time when I pick apart my brain and see if I have any coherent thoughts to post. Until then, see ya!

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
