Morning Coffee: Cup Thirty-Five

morning_coffeeToday’s post–and good mood–is brought to you by: Dunkin’ Donuts White Chocolate Peppermint.

It’s time for the monthly Morning Coffee post, where I post some random thoughts and prove that in my case, I drink coffee and know nothing. So let’s get it on, shall we?

-Prime and I finished Marvel’s Inhumans and we’re now taking on Runaways. I’m more than a little upset that Inhumans only lasted eight episodes; it was actually a damn good show and I would have liked to see more. I can’t help but wonder if it would have done a lot better on something like Netflix or Hulu rather than network TV.

-I’m chilling in the Diglett Tunnel on UltraSun and it won’t be long before I take on Olivia. So far, I’m enjoying the game but be warned; it really is a cut and paste of Sun and Moon. There are a few changes but not many and I’m not sure if this should have been an actual game or just some DLC for the first pair.

-Currently, I’m getting around 40 hours at work because Christmas and busy. Yes, I’m tired but at least the money’s good.

-I’m not sure we’re going to have much of a white Christmas around here; we’ve gotten a little snow but not enough to cover the ground. It’s cold enough for snow, we just haven’t had a lot of it.

-We were selling live Christmas trees at work. We are now out. I’m a little surprised because I don’t think we sold out last year.

-Our scheduling is still somewhat spotty; some days we have more than enough coverage, to the point where we are tripping over each other at the door, then other days, we barely have enough people to make it through an hour. Even worse? We have a new manager handling our schedule now. So I’m not expecting things to get any better, at least not any time soon.

-Our tickets to Brewers On Deck arrived. So I’m going next year. Oh man, I can barely wait for this! By January, I’m all but stir crazy and missing baseball terribly. The chance to hang out with Brewers players, say “Hi” and get autographs? Oh hell yes, sign me up please.

-Facebook has been getting worse lately. I’ve had to hide a few posts, quit a group I was in and I’ve had to block a ton of people lately. I’ve been spending less time on there lately and I don’t know if that’s such a bad thing.

-In “How to bankrupt a fandom” news: the Power of the Primes toys have a collectors card in each package. Each card covers the power of a Prime. Yeah, there’s a lot of Primes and a lot of damned cards. And my Prime is a card collector. So we’re not going to have any money for a few years. Oh well, who needs to eat when there are Transformers to collect?

-Prime and I hit Half Price Books. That store is very dangerous. That is all.

-I recently saw Justice League. It really wasn’t a terrible movie but it did have pacing problems, which is probably why it isn’t doing well at the box office. But Jason Momoa stole the hell out of it, Gal Gadot was amazing as always as Wonder Woman and the Flash was so charmingly socially inept that I found myself liking the guy; they are the best reasons to catch a viewing of this film. Again, this isn’t high art but it is fun and a good escape from reality.

And that should just about do it! Tune in next time where I pick through Scrabble tiles in order to make up a few words and then post the results for public mockery. Until then, see ya!

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We miss him every day.
