Welcome to Wisconsin

That’s no exaggeration; the temperatures have gone South as of late. The wind chill has hit negative numbers and the high temps struggle to break double digits. It was bad enough today that Prime insisted he drive me to and from work; he didn’t want me walking in this. I didn’t argue. If we’re lucky, we might hit 13 tomorrow, but then the mercury will start heading the opposite direction the very next day.

I used to think that forty degrees was cold. Was I ever wrong about that.

Christmas was a muted affair; Prime and I didn’t do a lot. We stayed at home and relaxed the entire day. There was no gift exchange but, then again, I have Prime so what more do I need? The day after Christmas, we headed to the movies and took in The Shape of Water and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Both were damn good and I’ll be writing my thoughts out on them both. Yes, there will be spoilers for them both, but I’ll hide them under a break. If you don’t want to read them yet, just skip that post for a while.

Work has been quiet. We’ve had some returns but not a lot. We seem to be steady right now. I can’t complain about that.

Prime and I will have New Year’s Day together. Maybe I should grab some sparkling wine so we can celebrate. Again, the festivities will be muted; I don’t party too much unless it’s BotCon. But a little indulgence couldn’t hurt.

I made it. Another Christmas, come and gone and I made it. That’s probably one of the best gifts I’ll receive.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
