Here is Some Good News

Good News for Women With Breast Cancer: Many Don’t Need Chemo. From the article:

The study found that gene tests on tumor samples were able to identify women who could safely skip chemotherapy and take only a drug that blocks the hormone estrogen or stops the body from making it. The hormone-blocking drug tamoxifen and related medicines, called endocrine therapy, have become an essential part of treatment for most women because they lower the risks of recurrence, new breast tumors and death from the disease.

So basically, what I am doing has science behind it. This is going to sound crazy, but this is something that I find extremely reassuring. When you’re facing something like this, you’re afraid. You’re unsure. No matter what you may be doing, you wonder if it’s enough or if it’s even the right thing. You get conflicting information and it can be confusing. To read this lets me know that my treatment has science behind it, thank Primus.

I’ll keep doing what I’m doing, as it seems my doctor knows what he’s talking about.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
