I got the notice a few days ago: it was a “happy anniversary” message from WordPress. Three years. I’ve been blogging here for three years. A lot has changed in the intervening time.
-I got out of Subway.
-I got hired by Costco.
-BotCon came to an abrupt end.
-I found out that my breasts want me dead. And I’m not going down without a fight.
-My two former bosses from Wal-Mart are no longer at their respective stores.
-Hasbro’s replacement for BotCon is actually a trade expo that is open to the public.
-The nation lost its mind and elected a Ferengi as our POTUS.
-Prime and I lost Sammy. This one really hurts.
If it weren’t for this blog, I honestly don’t know how I would cope. On the very day after we had to make that final, painful decision, I managed to put together a tribute page for Sammy. The “Letters to Sammy” posts have been therapeutic. It’s been a way to deal with my grief, but also celebrate the life of our furry little family member. There is no replacing Sammy; he was unique. He was special. He was easily one of the smartest cats I have ever been lucky enough to welcome into my life. (Hey, I did train him to sit!) He was with the two of us for nearly our entire relationship. It’s a huge loss for Prime and myself.
But this blog has made things bearable. The grief is great, but I’m able to face it. That helps.
I wish I could make a cheerier post for today. I really do. So let me end this by saying that I will be here for a good, long time to come.
And if Prime and I manage to get another furchild, I’ll be posting pics. Lots of them.
