The title is a snippet from “Cruel Summer”. It seemed fitting. For reasons that I can’t–or rather, won’t–go into, my plans for TFCon have been absolutely scuttled this year. I can’t go. I am not happy about this at all.
It used to be October that found ways of pissing me off; now it’s August. I am getting to the point where I can’t stand this month: the shooting at my Wal-Mart took place in August. A year to the day when that happened, I was terminated from my job. Now this.
To be quite honest, this entire summer has sucked. In June, I had to make the worst decision of my life and end our cat’s suffering. I can’t say that I’m completely through mourning the loss; as of late, Prime and I have been taking a different route home from Costco and we have to pass by the Animal Referral Center. More than once I’ve had to fight tears. July is nothing more than a haze of tears and sadness. Now this. The universe decides to kick me in the gut yet again. FML.
Prime and I managed to catch the first couple of episodes of Transformers: Cyberverse. It’s not a bad show, but I can tell it’s meant for the younger kids. The biggest problem I have with the show is the fact that we don’t have Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. Instead, it’s an entirely new voice actor and I don’t know if I particularly like that. Prime thinks that The Last Knight hurt Hasbro a lot more than they want to admit and that’s why we’re getting an entirely new cast with this show. It’s going to cost Hasbro a lot less to hire unknowns rather than someone of the same caliber as Peter Cullen. Personally, I think he’s on to something. It still stinks out loud, however.
I am officially sick of the rain. We had storms on Sunday night, which cost us both a decent night’s sleep and on Monday evening, we had to scurry downstairs because the tornado sirens were sounding. Yeah, getting more than a little sick of your shit, nature. You can stop this now.
Most of the back to school stuff is being clearanced out. I can’t help but admit that I’m a little interested in picking up a new lunch box on the cheap. Could come in handy later.
