First off, let me wish a happy birthday to none other than Dan Gilvezan, the voice of Bumblebee in the original Transformers series. This was probably the most Bumblebee image I could find on the internet, so it seemed fitting.

By now you’ve heard about the MAGA-bomber and you’ve probably heard that he’s been caught. I am relieved that he was apprehended before he sent out a device that actually harmed or killed someone. No, I will not be posting his name here. He does not need any more notoriety. He has gotten enough, so we’re better off forgetting who he was, but not the things he attempted. We don’t need a copycat bomber in this situation so let’s not encourage that.

Most of the leaves are gone. The huge tree near the corner is all but bare. Half of the trees in the Costco parking lot are bare as well. There are a few holdouts, a few trees that are still mostly green but they are few and far between. We’re in late autumn; winter will be here in only a matter of weeks.

TFCon is going on right now. Due to multiple reasons, I can’t attend. However, one of my friends is there. I hope he’s having fun in my place. (Hey, he got to see Miller Park yesterday! I am so jealous over here!)

You know, I’ve been saying “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year” as a joke lately. I think the joke’s on me. We’ve got less than two months until Christmas. What the hell happened to the year?!

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.

Milwaukee was cool (as well as very cold weather-wise). I enjoyed the Miller brewery tour. I got a positive impression of Milwaukee as well as my 1st visit to Wisconsin. I’ll definitely go again. You and Defensis would certainly have made the visit perfect.

TFCon? I got more negative than positive impressions about it. They don’t give lanyards with name badges as per the organizers, “they were being given to others who didn’t pay last year in order to get in.” Huh? Botcon, whether from the Hartman to the Savage era I doubt had that problem…

There are a lot of knock-offs being sold. I understand it’s not an official convention but the proliferation of unauthorized merchandise won’t curry favor with Hasbro…

Their shirts are overpriced at over $25. Even HasCon’s T-shirt (IIRC) cost only $20.

The guest line-up was nice but was very disappointed Bud Davis (G1 Dirge) was not there due to his hitting his head and being in the hospital. I concede this is not TFCon’s fault as something similar happened at BC ’11 when Jack Angel was unable to attend due to being ill, so I understand the Bud Davis absence.

The panels are repeats of stuff we’ve already heard before so I didn’t even stick around for them.

Now I see TFCon ’19 will be in LA. I would normally say an instant yes in going to that but this experience left me leery. They say they will celebrate the 35th anniversary of Transformers. If they can get a good amount of G1 voice actors to be there, I will consider going.

HasCon ’19? Yeah, I know of Hasbro’s financial woes. I have a strong inclination to go back to Providence but only because I will visit much of the Eastern Seaboard (Philadelphia, NYC, Boston and more) in order to justify the expense of HasCon…

Until we meet again SilverDefense team…

I really wish that the Brewers had made it to the World Series; me, you and Prime at a game would have been stellar.

I’m forced to wonder if Prime will consider TFCon next year, especially when it’s unofficial.
