Trust me, I know the feeling.

Holy. Slag. Today was busy. I do not kid. Our final total for today was 3,770 members. Our 10:30 door count was 350. I haven’t heard a number that high since I’ve been on Member Service. Thankfully, most everyone was polite and respectful; unlike yesterday, which was an absolute nightmare. It wasn’t quite as busy–3,156 people total–but those who did come in were belligerent. Making it worse was the fact that we apparently ran out of pumpkin pies, which irritated a shitload of members. We had people lining up in order to grab one when they were finished, but Bakery had to limit everyone to one pie, due to limited supplies.

Yeah, that didn’t go over very well. There were complaints. A lot of complaints. I’m seriously glad that I didn’t work yesterday. I don’t think I could have handled it.

It was damned busy on Monday as well, but I was off and Wiesia worked. When I came in today, she didn’t say anything to me, but didn’t wear her ass on her shoulders, either. I can’t help but think that Monday was bad enough to warrant an extra person at the door, but no one was available. Maybe, just maybe, she’ll stop being a grade A twunt and get over herself. Then things will be nice and peaceful at the door again. If I could be so lucky.

We’re closed tomorrow. Friday we open at 9:00. I’m not due in until 12:30. A Black Friday where I don’t have to work at an ungodly hour. Imagine that.

We’re already selling live Christmas trees. They’re in the vestibule, which makes the doors smell nice. It’s a weird bit of aromatherapy, but I’ll take it.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
