Agent of ‘Shield’

As you may or may not know, there was a Nintendo Direct today. If you haven’t seen it yet, drop what you’re doing and click the link above. It won’t take long; it’s only seven minutes.

Okay, now that’s done, so let’s get to the important thing: we’re getting Gen VIII. On Switch. The games are Pokémon Sword and Shield. I’m probably going to take Shield, while Prime will take Sword. Well, that’s how it looks right now.

Our new Region is Galar and it seems to be based on the United Kingdom; you can’t tell me that city didn’t look like London, replete with Big Ben. I’m also liking the PC’s designs, except for the hats. I really hope that we can chuck those ASAP. Then, there’s this:

Our Galar Starters. I really think that GameFreak hit this one out of the park, because I’m having one heck of a time trying to make a final decision. All three of them are adorable. However, Prime has laid claim to Scorbunny, which takes that little guy off the table. So, I’m looking at either Grookey or Sobble.

I’ve done some deliberations. Both are seriously cute. But I’m thinking that I’m going to go with this guy:

He’s just too cute to leave behind and he doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of love from the fans. It’s also been several generations since I chose the Grass starter; it’s past time for me to start with a Grass type.

I think I’ll name him ‘Blackjack’. Because why not?

The games will hit worldwide later this year. It’s going to be one extremely long wait. Until then, I’ll be getting ready to head to Galar. Hope to see you there!

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
