The Time is Now

By now, you know about the shooting at the University of North Carolina. You probably also know that the suspect has been caught and booked for murder. Before you ask: yes, he looks extremely white, which would explain why he was taken alive.

So, when do we have the conversation about gun control? When do we start saying that it’s not a “lone wolf” but a pack? When do we start saying that we’re mentally sick of this bullshit and we want real change?

The NRA would say that now isn’t the time. Oh, and don’t mention gun control before a mass shooting because the timing isn’t right on that, either. Also, leave politics, race, and religion out of it, unless we’re dealing with a brown skinned person who worships the wrong god and might be the slightest bit liberal.

The NRA is full of shit.

We need to start having the conversations now. We need to start saying, “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore!” We need to let Washington D.C. know that we want change and we want it now.

We need to make our voices heard. And we need to start now.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
