When the Cat’s Away…

Notice anything…?

Word of the day: annoyapointed. The state of being both annoyed and disappointed at the exact same time. Which describes me to a tee right now.

This morning, I stopped by a local Walmart to check the toys. See, Refraktor, Brunt, and Red Alert have been spotted out in the wild and Refraktor happens to go for sick amounts. Why? Well, most collectors aren’t simply getting one of him; they’re getting three. Because he’s actually Reflector and it took three figures to form his camera mode. Making things worse is the fact that Hasbro only packed Refraktor two to a case.

Yeah, that won’t make him difficult to find at all. Nope, not in the least. 🙄

Now, when I checked this morning, there was nothing new in Toys. And I do mean nothing. So I figured we were fine and headed to work. I put in my shift, got off at 16:00, and walked to the direction of the bus stop. While en route, I stopped at Walmart again.

Hanging on the pegs were Red Alert and Brunt. Someone had restocked after I left. And someone else had grabbed Refraktor.

‘Not happy’ doesn’t begin to describe it. Wow.

I called Prime and told him the situation; I also mentioned that I needed a pick up. I had gotten to Walmart but felt too awful to go any further. So Prime said he’d drop by and rescue me, if you will.

When he got there, we hit the Meijer, along with another pair of Walmarts. At least one Walmart had a Brunt, but no one had Refraktor.

I feel awful. Yes, I know and Prime has said that I did everything I could, but I still feel awful. I feel like I let Prime down. I’m also frustrated by Walmart; they couldn’t have restocked while I was there?! Damn!

Yeah, not a great day, to be honest. But Prime’s enlisted some help so maybe things will get better.

I can only hope. =/

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
