I Gotta Feeling

Speaking of rain…

On Saturday, we got hit–and hit hard–by storms. Prime and I were out in the thick of it; we were heading over to Chimera Hobby Shop for a “learn-to-play” Transformers TCG event when the rain and wind started. While en route to the store, we nearly got hit by a falling tree branch. We swerved, avoided it, then kept going… and saw the tree itself that had thrown the branch collapsing in the street in our rear view mirror! I don’t think anyone was hit and injured. At least, I haven’t heard anything.

Yeah, a very near thing. Prime and I made it to Chimera safely. We are extremely lucky. Praise to Primus for that sort of luck. However, a lot of people in the Fox Cities area lost power, among them, Fox Cities Stadium. Which meant, no Timber Rattlers game on Saturday.

A shot of the field, as the Whitecaps were doing their warm-up exercises. Yesterday’s game was cancelled, as nothing could be done without electricity. So doubleheader on Sunday!

Prime and I had tickets for Sunday’s game. Thankfully, I wasn’t working, so we could head over to the ballpark early.

It was also a bobblehead giveaway–Corbin Burnes–so we got there early enough to grab a pair.

Fans–adult and kids alike–playing catch on the field before game time.

A little bit of action from the Timber Rattlers. Prime and I stuck to the Fox Club, as it’s shaded and with the glass panels opened, quite pleasant.

Jimmy Nelson, on the mound and tossing a few warm-up pitches at the top of the seventh, game one. He was making a rehab appearance with the Rattlers on Sunday, and Prime and I were lucky enough to be there.

Just before the beginning of the second game. This was the make-up game for Saturday night, which was Cascabeles night. So, new uniforms for both teams!

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, if I do say so myself.

Game one: West Michigan Whitecaps – 3
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers – 6

Game two: Calaveras (Whitecaps) – 4
Cascabeles (Timber Rattlers) – 6

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
