Another Day in America

By now, you’ve heard: the shooting at the Garlic Festival and now, one at a Mississippi Walmart. Already, someone on Facebook has pulled the “don’t politicize the death of a child” bullshit, claiming that unless you’re upset about deaths in Baltimore(!) and Chicago, you need to keep quiet.

I am tired. So very tired.

More deaths that could have been prevented. More broken families and lives that never should have been. More trauma that never should have occurred.

But I guess that a few bleeding bodies in the street is a miniscule price to pay for our “freedom”.

To which I ask: Freedom of what? Because if this is the price of freedom, then it’s far too high.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
