By now, you’ve heard: the shooting at the Garlic Festival and now, one at a Mississippi Walmart. Already, someone on Facebook has pulled the “don’t politicize the death of a child” bullshit, claiming that unless you’re upset about deaths in Baltimore(!) and Chicago, you need to keep quiet.
I am tired. So very tired.
More deaths that could have been prevented. More broken families and lives that never should have been. More trauma that never should have occurred.
But I guess that a few bleeding bodies in the street is a miniscule price to pay for our “freedom”.
To which I ask: Freedom of what? Because if this is the price of freedom, then it’s far too high.
