Raining Cats and (Hot) Dogs

Story of my life.

Prime and I were planning on going to the Rattlers game on Monday night, but as you can see, the weather had other plans. It was the last “Bark in the Park”, featuring dime hot dogs and pet owners could bring their dogs with them.

However, when we got there, the game was already postponed due to the weather.

No, that does not look conducive to a baseball game. And that’s before the rain started to fall!

I’m not sure if you can see it, but it had just begun raining. It wasn’t too heavy, at first.

That changed. Hoo boy, did that ever change. Because it got hard and heavy fast.

Those are some of the Peoria Chiefs players, using our tarp as a makeshift Slip ‘N Slide. They weren’t able to have too much fun, as our announcer warned them to stay off of it. Crud.

A shot of the ballpark, tarp still covering the field. The rain had finally slacked off by then, but the game was rescheduled for Tuesday, where it would be part of a doubleheader. Unfortunately, I had to work on Tuesday, so that meant I couldn’t see the game, but our tickets can be used for another game during this month. Or, failing that, in April or May of next year! So yes, we’re holding on to those tickets!

This was the sky as Prime and I headed back home. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sky with that shade before. It was quite lovely.

The game might have been rained out, but it was still a memorable night, and I wouldn’t have missed it for anything.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
