Safer At Home

For once, Megatron uses some common sense. Never thought I’d see that.

Prime and I have our masks; when either one of us leaves the house, we use them. I’ve got another small vacation from work this coming week, as I’m off Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I have no plans to leave the house unless necessary. My anxiety is far better here than out in public; the masks do give me peace of mind, but they aren’t foolproof. I’m still at risk of infection. We have barriers at the doors, which helps as well, but again, it’s not foolproof.

Although I miss going out, I’d rather be at home. It’s safer here.

Walmart is now using one entrance and that one is barricaded so people can queue up if needed. There’s a limit to how many customers can come in at one time. We’re doing the same thing at Costco, which means when it gets backed up at the Front End, we have to close off the front door and let some of the members out before allowing anymore else inside. Petco is open but I haven’t been inside for a bit, as they don’t want people simply browsing. It’s dangerous for both the employees and customers.

I have no idea when this may end. Mentally, I’m exhausted and going to work takes its toll. Lulu and Prime help keep me centered and if I didn’t have them, I don’t know how I’d cope. I’m grateful to have them in my life.

Before I get too depressing, let’s have a bonus cat video. Because cat videos make everything much better!

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.

Since the lockdown in the Bay Area started in mid-March, Joe and I have not gone beyond downtown San Mateo. He is content staying home keeping himself *alive*. He does not understand why deep down, people don’t want to keep themselves alive. 😦
