Back to (Semi) Normal

Remember Molly, the lost cat who disappeared on Christmas Day in Nashville after the terrorist bombing? She’s been found. It seems she never left the building and authorities were able to catch her and reunite her with her guardian. So there’s some good news.

On New Year’s Day, on my fourth try of catching Palkia, it finally happened: Palkia was shiny. It only took me about three and a half weeks–give or take–to make this happen. Apparently, the odds of getting a shiny after a Dynamax Adventure is weighted in your favor and if you’re playing online, the shiny might vary between players. It’s not RNG based and it’s all determined after you complete or are ejected from the Den. If you have the Shiny Charm, your chances are 1 in 100. If you’re like me and don’t have the Charm yet, the chances are 1 in 300. Those odds are better than a Masuda run sans the Charm, as a Masuda is now at about a 1 in 600 chance and far better than random chance, as that’s around 1 in 4,000+. So if you really want to farm for shinies, hitting the Max Lair and getting involved in some Dynamax Adventures is probably your best bet. If you’re worried about stats, the catches I’ve made in the Max Lair have been fairly good, so that’s another bonus.

I’m back to hatching Grookey eggs, as I’ve been neglecting that hunt for a while now. When the Crown Tundra went live, I headed over there and just suspended things. I’ve been hunting Legends for the last couple of months, which was a little more exciting than hatching entire parties of eggs. But I have other hunts I want to start and complete, so I need to get this one done. I only hope it doesn’t take long.

Last weekend was busy. Like, busier than the entirety of the holiday shopping season. We had 4,009 members on Saturday and over three thousand on Sunday; people were spending their stimulus checks. I think I saw more televisions walk out of the doors on Saturday than I did in the weeks leading up to Christmas! Sunday was crazy because we had a Packers game–it was against the Bears–and everyone had to run and grab the beer.

Yes, the Packers won and they have the number one spot in the playoffs, which is good. I wouldn’t mind if they made it to the Superbowl, but I really don’t know if they deserve it; the Packers are acting like two different teams during the two halves of their games. First half: they’re competent and know what they’re doing. Second half: it’s the JV team who is completely clueless. It’s cost us some games and if the team isn’t careful, it could end up costing them a trip to the Superbowl.

Honestly? I’d rather see the Cleveland Browns make it to the Superbowl and take it all. They’ve never been, never won and I’d be really happy if Cleveland actually came out on top. With the sorts of seasons that the Browns have had, they deserve it.

To be completely honest, I’m fine with anyone other than the damn Patriots. I am sick to death of seeing those guys and their half deflated balls in the playoffs. For reasons.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
