Here’s a Thing That Exists: Nickelodeon is getting the next Transformers series. Apparently, it’s going to be aimed at a younger audience and is going to be more comedic.
Cue the fandom, throwing tantrums. 🙄
Before you ask: yes, I am going to give it a shot. Let’s be honest here, Cyberverse wasn’t really aimed at the older members of the fan base. It was absolutely meant for kids. That’s not to say that the show was bad. Far from it. It was a solid series so I reserve judgement on this one. No, what some of the fans are complaining about is the idea of comedy.
I’m going to be blunt here. The idea of shape-shifting robots from outer space is absolutely ridiculous. At it’s core, Transformers can be pretty damned silly. If done properly, it could be a lot of fun. Besides, the older fans have the Netflix series; it’s good and I wish people would stop hating on it. But not everything in this fandom is meant for the adult collector. This is a toy franchise and toys are mostly marketed to–drum roll, please–children.
It’s not meant for you, guys, so chill. Or better yet, loosen up and have a little fun for once. It might do you guys some good if you smiled every once in a while.
