Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back…

A socially distant Whiffer and Fang.

Yesterday was May the fourth, which was significant for Star Wars fans. For me, it was the Opening Day for the Timber Rattlers.

It’s been over a year since I was last in the ballpark; I last visited back in autumn of 2019 to catch a Wildcard game between the Brewers and Nationals. So it’s been a long time since I’ve stepped through the gates of Fox Cities Stadium.

The Beloit Snappers.

Prime and I made it to the team store; he wanted some hats. I grabbed one of my own: it has the Timber Rattlers logo on the front and a Brewers ball and glove logo on back. I figure I can wear it at a TRats game or in American Family Field, while watching the Crew. I’m repping both my teams with this!

TRats at bat.

The weather was nice; not too cool at the start of the game, but the temperatures did drop once the sun set. Thankfully, I had the sense to wear two hoodies to the game. I stayed fairly warm for most of the evening. I did, however, have to shove my hands in my sleeves

Another at bat.

The Snappers took an early lead, but the Rattlers were able to tie the game and pulled ahead in the fourth inning. Once they got that lead, the Rattlers never lost it. They went on to beat the Snappers 2 to 1.

Baseball is back. Finally. I am here for it. Finally. I can’t wait for my next game.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
