Today, I hopped in front of Alexa, fired up Chrome, and logged into WordPress. Since I’ve been having some difficulty putting together my Weekly Reader posts–that’s why they’ve been on hiatus for now–on my phone, I thought I would give it a try on my laptop.
‘Try’ being the operative word here. Because I discovered I couldn’t.
It appears that our PC version of Chrome is out of date and doesn’t seem to support the new WordPress editor. Trying to make a new post just results in a blank screen. The page loads, but there’s nothing. I quite literally can’t start typing or insert a picture or, well, anything.
I had been simply copying and pasting most of the basic templates for the Weekly Reader and Seven Quick Takes into some new posts, but since the Classic Editor has been discontinued, I can’t do that anymore. I just end up with a “Block Not Supported” message and a blank space. It’s frustrating.
So yeah, I’m going to have to keep those posts on hiatus until I can figure everything out. It’s not permanent but it is ongoing. Wish we luck on this, because I’m going to need it.
