There’s No Crying…

Or earlier.

So, we got a sweep, but not the one I wanted. Thanks a lot, Cincinnati. 😦

As I mentioned yesterday, Prime and I headed to American Family Field to take in the Brewers game. We also saw the Monday night game, but that one didn’t end well. Last night’s didn’t end too great either, but we didn’t leave empty handed. We managed to get our hands on some GI Joe building sets; think along the lines of Lego. It’s something Hasbro has done before–remember KREO?–but they stopped making them a few years back. Well, it looks like they might be testing the waters again.

There’s only one problem: these GI Joe sets can only be found at Tuesday Mornings, which is a discount retailer similar to Ross or TJ Maxx. We used to have a Tuesday Morning nearby, but it closed down several years ago. Fortunately, there are a couple of them near Milwaukee.

The problem was trying to get there. It’s Construction Season in Wisconsin and so many of the roads are either closed or a total wreck. Add in a GPS that has some ridiculously outdated maps and we’re looking at comedy gold.

We tried to get to the first store in Waukesha but the Garmin kept trying to shunt us down a road that was completely torn up and closed due to construction. Prime tried multiple times to get the Garmin to recalculate and get a better route but it never happened. Instead, it just kept leading us to a dead end and expected us to drive down a road that was closed. After three attempts, Prime said he’d give the Nuvi one last chance, then he’d switch to his phone.

Attempt number four was made. With the same result as last time. So Prime told the Nuvi to eat farts, grabbed his phone, booted up Google maps and got us to the Tuesday Morning in about seven minutes.

We could have skipped that one. That one was a bust. The next store? Oh yeah, that one had them. So Prime grabbed what he needed.

We got to the game on time and it was a good game. Or it was until the tenth inning. Which was when the Reds pulled ahead and never lost the lead. Yeah, I pretty much wanted to cry at the end of that one. It wasn’t a great ending.

As for today? The Reds managed to win again. They swept the Brewers. No, I’m not happy about that.

But it’s June. We’ve got time. There’s still more baseball to play. Summer’s just started, after all.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
