Wheels in the Sky

So this happened tonight:

There we are!

Skids hit 100,000 miles. Happy birthday…!! Wait, that’s not quite right. Um, happy forge day…? No, not quite. How about: Roll out! Yeah, that works. ❤

The bottles of sanitizer are still sitting in the vestibule at work, but they haven’t been touched for a long while. I’m guessing that the era of cart sanitizing is over. It’s a real shame, too, because a lot of people would rather the carts be cleaned before they touch them. But it looks as though that time has passed.

Our eleven o’clock person didn’t come in today, because that person was Pam and her last day was Sunday. So we were a little short at the doors but managed. Supposedly, there are going to be two new people at the doors starting next week. I’m not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, these people might actually stick around for a while, since Pam is gone. On the other, I don’t know how reliable they may or may not be. We’ll have to see.

It looks like we’re also losing our store manager, as she’s going to Green Bay, and our optical manager is leaving for Chicago soon. Peg has said she’ll be retiring in about a year, so that’s going to leave an opening for Member Service. Mary has cut her hours because she’s getting ready to retire. There are rumors that we might be losing more people, due to retirement, different jobs, or otherwise just moving on with their lives. We’re probably looking at a number of people leaving.

Me, I’m not going anywhere. I’m getting paid far too well to even imagine leaving. I mean, I’ve always been fairly passionate about having food to eat, so…

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
