Color Me Unsurprised

I was supposed to get a grand total of twenty nine hours this week. Today was supposed to be a five hour shift.

That didn’t happen.

We had a call in and, as always, I was asked to clock in early. So instead of five hours, I got seven. I’m not exactly surprised about this. It happens every week when my hours are cut; we have a call in, the schedule is complete screwed up, what have you and I’m asked to come in early or stay later. My twenty five or twenty nine hours turn into thirty one or thirty three or thirty seven.

Prime hates it when my hours are cut. But every time I tell him that it’s not going to last. I won’t end up with the bare minimum. I almost always get extra hours during those weeks. Because shit happens and I’m the only one around to clean it up, apparently.

I’m supposed to be working a 14:00 to 19:00 tomorrow and the day after, but we’ll see. That may change. Hell, I’m all but certain that this will change. Stay tuned.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
