Day Game

As I mentioned before, the Friday game for the Timber Rattlers was postponed. The weather wasn’t too great for a game and Fox Cities Stadium doesn’t have a roof, since it’s just a minor league ballpark. So the Opener would be on Saturday and Sunday afternoon would be a doubleheader.

Normally, that would be a problem, as I work on the weekends, but not last week. I didn’t just take Friday off; I took the weekend as well. I figured that Prime and I might want to catch the rest of the series with Peoria.

I’m really glad I did. If I hadn’t, I might have missed everything.

The TRats trailed 5 – 0 after the first 5½ innings, and couldn’t get a hit for seven. It really didn’t look good for a while. The Rattlers were finally able to tie it up but the Chiefs answered back with an extra run in the top of the ninth. But the Timber Rattlers managed to tie it up, force extra innings, saw Peoria take the lead again and walked it off in the tenth.

The weather for the game was actually very nice; I was wearing a pair of hoodies and absolutely felt overdressed. I was almost too hot during the first half of the game!

It was a really nice change from the previous years where we had several inches of snow and winds that came straight from Lake Michigan. It honestly felt like spring for once, which was pleasant. My only regret? Not bringing my gloves, as my hands got cold in the later innings. But it was a great Saturday for baseball!

Before you ask: Prime and I did take in the doubleheader on Sunday. I’ll let you in on all of that tomorrow!

Peoria Chiefs – 6
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers – 7

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
