Stirring the Pot

I thought the weekend before was bad but it had nothing on the past week.

As you all know, Mary and Jed butted heads the prior weekend and they were both dragged into the office. Now it seems that Brenda and Kim are not on speaking terms. Or rather, Kim may have dug herself into quite the hole.

So, on Friday, Kim ran to management, complaining about Brenda. So, the two of them were pulled into the office with both Jeremy (the general manager) and Kari (the front end manager). Things took a turn for the WTF almost immediately.

Kim basically said that she thought Brenda was talking down to her but Brenda flat out said that she wasn’t; she was being direct and honestly felt like Kim was trying to order everyone else around and have things at the door run the way that Kim wanted. Kim claimed otherwise but then she went off on some of the other people at the door.

Like me. She basically tried to say that I didn’t know anything about the door and how it was run. She basically had a Huge Fucking Problem with me. As to why exactly, I really don’t know. But Brenda came down on Kim for that.

She straight up told Kim that I had been at the door for years. That I knew how shit was run and that I couldn’t do some of the procedures due to my knees. But I knew how things went there, I had helped train others, and I had actually worked with both the paperwork and the tablet.

Kim went dead ass silent. Both Kari and Jeremy went dead ass silent. Apparently, you could have heard a pin drop in that room.

Kim didn’t look at Brenda. She just shut down. The meeting was broken up a little while afterwards, because Kari and Jeremy both said that nothing was getting resolved.

I’m flabbergasted. Personally, I’m trying like hell to stay out of the controversies at the door but I’m really glad that Brenda spoke up. Seriously. I’m not going to forget that. I will go to bat for Brenda anytime, anyplace. However, as far as Kim is concerned, I don’t know what to think.

It feels like Kim’s gotten a bit of a swelled head ever since she got the full time position. So I’m forced to think that management made a gigantic mistake giving it to her. Because she’s quite literally acting like she’s a supervisor and she isn’t. She’s full time but that’s it. She gets more hours. She’s not management in any capacity but she’s been acting like it. She’s half of the reason why Jed was dragged into the office with Mary; it was because Kim wouldn’t switch places with him. Instead, she said she was switching with Mary and went Jed asked her what to do, shit went south quick.

It feels like Kim is trying to stir the pot and start a bunch of shit for no damn reason whatsoever. As I said, I do my damnedest to stay the fuck away from that sort of thing, but it looks like she wants to drag anyone and everyone into it. So, I may just have to start grey rocking her in order to extract myself from her drama. I quite literally want no part of this. If she wants to start shit, she can do it without me. She can stir shit pot and lick the spoon for all I care. Just leave me out of it.

The weekend wasn’t terrible: Saturday was busy but Sunday was calmer. We all got kicked out of the building at 20:00 on Sunday, which was the end of my shift, so I didn’t lose any hours. I’m glad about that.

Bonus: Kim was off Sunday, so I didn’t have to act like everything was okay and be cordial around her. That’s a definite plus. This week will be interesting though; I only hope I don’t have to deal with Kim all that much.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
