Bumps in the Road

Yesterday, I finally did it: I packed my suitcase. It didn’t take long, as I had most of my clothing in there already and the stuff that wasn’t I could just grab and pop it in without problems. Next on the itinerary is my toiletries bag, then I will lay out my clothing for the trip itself and I’ll be done.

I don’t have long. Only a little more and I will be absolutely ready for the trip. But we’ve hit a slight bump in the road. It’s not on my end, but it’s on Prime’s.

It seems that his employer is hinting that he may not necessarily get all of his requested vacation time, if any at all.

Prime is adamant. I’m going. He’s thinking that if he is able to attend, he’ll be going as an add-on or just a walk-in, rather than pre-register. But if he can’t, he’s already said he’ll make sure I get there myself.

I don’t know what to think about this. I want to go to BotCon, but I don’t know if I want to go without Prime.

We were looking at a similar situation when it came to HasCon. I had little desire to go and Prime was thinking about going by himself, simply to get the exclusives. We didn’t have to go that route, but it was an option. We might have to consider doing it this time.

I’m not sure if I’m happy about it. Yes, I want to go but…

We have three months. Things can change. Hopefully for the better.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
