Two Down…

O Captain, My Captain.

On Saturday our friend Shawn went to Chicago with our friend Stogie and a few others; it seemed that there was a convention being held there and autographs could be had. One of them was an autograph I hadn’t been able to get: Will Friedle .

You might recognize the name from Boy Meets World or from Kim Possible or maybe Batman Beyond, but I know him as Bumblebee from Transformers: Prime and 2015’s Transformers: Robots in Disguise.

Before you ask: no, I haven’t met him yet. BotCon was cancelled the year after RiD premiered. So he never made it to a BotCon at all, which is upsetting.

However, Shawn offered to take something of ours with him to get autographed: Prime and I hunted around a bit, then found an exclusive New York ComicCon Transformers: Prime set that featured Bumblebee, Arcee, Jack Darby, and Raf Esquivel. We figured that would be pretty perfect, and we could also get it autographed by Frank Welker in August, since he was a member of the cast. So, we sent it along with Shawn.

He didn’t come back empty-handed; he got Mr. Friedle’s autograph and also managed to get Josh Keaton’s signature on that set as well.

Happy? Nah. “Over the moon” is a more accurate description. Because I am.

That set will be taking a trip with Shawn again and I’ll meet up with it in Tennessee in late August, so I can ask Mr. Welker to sign it. I might make this a thing from now on: if I can get a member of the Prime cast’s autograph, I’m going to try and get it on that exclusive set. Because why not?

It’ll make a gorgeous display piece, I’ll say that much.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
