Deadlines and Headlines

The Brewers picked up Trevor Rosenthal from the Giants however, Milwaukee traded Josh Hader to the Padres. Okay, I don’t have much to say about Rosenthal, but I do about Hader.

I know there are those who think that the Padres might have gotten the better end of this trade, but I’m not so sure.

Batters are getting hits off Hader. He’s blown a couple of saves. His contract is coming up and he’d be making $16 million for another year, then he might not even be in a Brewers uniform afterwards. He’s also struggling a bit.

Yes, Hader and Soto look good for the Padres, but I’ve seen Hader crack under pressure. (Playoff game against the Washington Nationals: anybody remember that?) Soto seems like a sure bet as well, but what if he gets injured? There’s a lot of variables involved.

I’m thinking that the Brewers made the right decision. We still have a lot of games to go so we’ll have to see.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
