Opting Out

I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I will never do that.

On Sunday, I noticed a letter by the time clock: it was from our CEO and it had been sent out company wide. To sum it up, it said this: any fully vaccinated employees can fill out an opt-out sheet and not have to wear a mask at work.

Nope. No thank you. I will not be doing that.

We’ve already had some members who weren’t vaccinated try and walk in without masks. There’s been at least one report of a fully vaccinated person catching Covid and dying from it. As I mentioned earlier, I don’t trust people to do the right thing anymore. This entire year has proven that.

Already I’m planning on gathering supplies for winter. As I did last year, I will do the same this year. I’m staying home. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be on the Switch or cuddling with Lulu. But I refuse to go out.

I have an awful feeling that we’re going to see a rise in Covid cases. We’re not out of the woods yet and we still have a ways to go. But a lot of people have forgotten that.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
