We started our day with breakfast, paid for by our long time friend DA, whom we both met back in 1999(!). After having our fill, we headed to American Dream to hit the convention.
We got a few things from the dealer room today; I also got the second to last autograph I needed. There’s only one left and hopefully I’ll be getting it done tomorrow. My wallet is fairly empty but I really can’t complain about this.
Prime had to take a break for a bit because of his back; eventually, he headed back to the hotel to take a quick nap. He was exhausted enough to find himself nearly dropping off to sleep! However, he asked if I wanted to stay at the convention to take in more of the fun.
It didn’t take me much convincing. I stayed.
I took one more lap around the dealer room, and then I took a seat in the panel room.
I’m glad I stayed: the Beast Wars panel was filled to capacity and probably the most fun I’ve had in at least a year. Of course, it was absolutely hilarious, as Scott McNeil is probably one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. Yes, the rumors are true: he is crazy and it is amazing. So much fun and I was laughing through the entirety of the panel.
After that was done, Prime, DA, and I had plans. Big plans. Which involved going to Queens.
We went to a Mets game. No, they didn’t win but they were hosting the Angels and I got to see Shohei Ohtani take a couple of really nice swings. I have seen Ohtani play. I can say that now. I’ve seen Shohei play.
I also got pins. Eight this time. I had to grab the Mr. and Mrs. Met pins, Mets logo pins, a Marvel pin with the Hulk, among others. I broke my pin record on this trip!
Tomorrow’s Sunday, which is the last day. If I’m lucky, I’ll get my final autographs, maybe get a few more things, and do my damnedest to enjoy these last few hours of BotCon.
We’ll see you tomorrow!
‘Twas my pleasure getting breakfast for all of us. Great way to start of the con.
Being 3 hours ahead of Pacific Time for several days, I had to attempt getting a nap. Even with an energy drink, I was drowsy thru the day. Funny thing, I could only get to a light state of ‘sleep.’ I used remaining time to load pics and videos from my iPhone to the laptop. (Valuable lesson I learned from you 2 from BC ’09…)
The outing to Citi Field in Queens is an expereince I shall never forget you 2. I truly am thankful you offered and I accepted to go. Citi Field really is larger than Oracle Park in SF. And getting there and back across NYC was awesome, thanks to Defensis’ driving. Thanks again you 2! 🙂
