Things very nearly took a turn today; I don’t want to go into details, but I’m really glad that I’m able to go to BotCon. Though I may have to head over to a mechanic to take care of a few things afterwards. That’s all I will say about it.

Also: the state of Wisconsin needs to pull its head out and start taking care of the roads. This is strike two, guys. Strike three might just involve a dash cam and a chat with an attorney.

For the last several days, I’ve been assisting on the Front End. It’s not terrible, but I wouldn’t call it great, either. The few times that I’ve been sent to the door, I’ve noticed a few things.

There are blank spaces on the count sheet where the other assistants have failed to write down the counts. Last week, the sheet was turned in on Friday; we actually turn it in on Sunday. No one has been tallying up the columns to make it easier to get the daily total.

Basically, all the small things that I’ve been doing are being skipped. Because no one else will do them. So now we have a missing sheet and an inaccurate daily total. But who cares? It’s not my fucking problem. Let everything fall apart. As long as I’m not involved, it’s not going to bother me.

Case in point: today I was taking some go-backs to Hardlines and stopped by the door to check the counts. Our counts were fairly low, since it was Monday. Before I took off, I saw that the third column hadn’t been added up, so I did the math.

But it gets better: we had five people at the door in the morning and only two in the evening. Again, the schedule is utter garbage and again, I can’t be bothered to care. Because why should I? Every time I try to care it just bites me in the ass and quite frankly, I’m fucking tired of it.

Vacation starts on Tuesday. I’ll be heading to Tennessee on Wednesday. Costco can live without me for the next week.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
