Today was moderately busy; we had a few rushes but nothing too overwhelming. I got stuck working with Gloria for a while, which wasn’t great, Zeb, which was fine because he’s actually got a personality, and Theresa.
Hoo boy, Theresa. I honestly think that she’s worse than Gloria and that’s really saying something.
Theresa’s abrasive, for lack of a better term. She’s barely polite to me and she doesn’t pay attention to what she’s doing. She’s scanned multiple items more than once and blamed it on the register. She’s skipped items and tried to blame me for it. She’s tried to void multiple scans but she doesn’t actually void anything; she taps the Void key on the register but never scans the barcode of what needs to be taken off but expects it to have somehow magically been removed. She scans shit way too fast and loses count.
In other words, she does things quickly and not carefully and it keeps biting her in the ass.
Now, part of the problem is Costco: cashiers are supposed to be fast. But some of this is Theresa: she’s just not mindful of what she’s doing and she keeps fucking up. She had at least three audits today because she missed one item and overcharged members twice. I was there for the first two audits and she immediately caught an attitude when she saw the supervisor. It wasn’t her fault, she insisted. But I’m pretty damn sure that it was all her. Just by watching her, I could tell she wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing. It was obvious.
So yeah, there’s a cashier that I like less than Gloria. Didn’t think that would happen. The less I work with both of them, the better.
We’re working on the parking lot, apparently. It seems we’re not up to the ADA standard for handicapped parking spaces and we’re adding more. It has something to do with either the size of the building or the amount of spaces in the parking lot. I’m not actually sure. But the lot is a mess right now and I don’t know how long it’s going to remain that way. Hopefully it won’t be too long.
