No, this wasn’t from our seats. We were in the 300s–THIS. IS. BASEBALL!!–for the game.
We got up fairly early this morning and was on the road by 0830. We were heading to Queens for another baseball game. As you can see, it was the Yankees, and we were in Yankee Stadium.
It’s a nice place, but I really think I prefer American Family Field. It feels easier to navigate and the parking situation is a lot better than at most other stadiums. But I may just be biased in that regard.
Now, the Yankees haven’t been great this season; they’re pretty much in last place in their division but they managed to snap a losing streak last night on the power of three home runs from Aaron Judge. So the fans were pretty hyped for the game and expecting another W.
Yeah, that didn’t happen.
Things might have been alright if the Bronx Bombers had turned it around earlier, but it didn’t help that Harrison Bader struck out every single time he was at the plate. He was the last out of the ninth, which secured a 6 – 5 win for the Washington Nationals.
If you were wondering: I got more pins. We also grabbed a souvenir magnet for Prime’s mother. That’s on top of the giveaway tee shirts we got since we were among the first fans to get to the stadium. We didn’t leave empty-handed. Cold, wet, and dripping, yes. But not empty-handed.
After the game, we managed to make our way to our hotel. It took a while, but we got here, checked in, ran into some snags, as per usual, but we got our keys and dropped everything in our room, then hit American Dream to pick up our pre-registration package.
Before you ask: Yes, American Dream is freaking HUGE. Unfortunately, I only grabbed our package, so I didn’t get a chance to look around at all. No, we didn’t get dinner there, either. Instead, we opted for the restaurant in our hotel.
Roasted tomato flatbread. It’s not pizza, but it’s just as good.
We’re relaxing, shooting the breeze, and just relaxing. We’ll get some sleep, then take on the convention!
I remember us tesxting each other that day. You 2 got the Yankee Stadium in The Bronx early at 10:23am. 🙂
Hope you 2 didn’t get drenched 😉
On another note, I want to commend you in how posting to your blog has become more user-friendly. Many posts of mine in times past just would not appear for some reason…
I still maintain that American Dream is a MONSTROSITY of a mall. Basically an abomination in this day and age. 🙂
