Last week, Prime spent an evening with his mother; it seems she needed his help for a project. She’s sending care packages to the Guard unit that Claymore–he’s Prime’s younger brother–is serving with right now. It appears that toiletries and snacks are at a premium so she’s trying to rectify that. So the pair of them spent most of their time packing boxes. The man-bot is pretty slagging good at that sort of thing. Prime also nabbed some comics from our local comic shop so he can send those along and he’s been busy, packing them away. It’s taken him the better part of the weekend to get it all done.
We caught a showing of Mazinger Z: Infinity yesterday. I quite enjoyed it. Prime and I also spent some time with one of our friends and chit chatted with him for a bit. It appears that Hasbro won’t be continuing JoeCon with Fun Publications; we have no idea if they’ll keep the Joe Collector’s Club going or if they’ll opt to discontinue that. There’s been no action on the Transformers front when it comes to a club; Hasbro said they would set one up but it hasn’t happened yet. Personally, I doubt that it ever will. Don’t mind me; I’m just a bit salty on all this.
Half Price Books may be the death of me. I stopped by there yesterday and walked out with two new books: Wonder Woman Warbringer and The Physics of Star Trek. No, I haven’t finished Squirrel Girl quite yet and I do have other tomes waiting for me but I think I may have enough books to carry me through spring. When the weather warms, I can get back to walking to work, which means less time in the breakroom, which means less trouble.
Of course, things are better now. No one has bothered me since I started bringing a book and the Kindle. I’ve also started catching up with God Awful Movies; eventually, I’ll be listening to more current episodes.
NBC made a mess of the Olympics, it seems. Or at least, one of their commentators did. Apparently, s/he compared South Korea to Japan, which is not a great idea. Needless to say, the commentator in question has been relieved of their duties. Is it just me or does this sort of thing happen at least once during every Olympics game?
Valentine’s Day will be the first day of spring, as Brewers pitchers and catchers will be reporting to Spring Training. I’ll wear my Brewer earrings then, as a sort of celebration.
The first day of spring is in Valentine’s Day. Not long now. Baseball is just around the corner. Life will be good again.
