Switching Over

At least it wasn’t full Butthead.

In case you weren’t aware, the Nintendo Switch is getting three new Pokémon games:Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!, Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu!, and Pokémon Quest. Quest will also get a mobile release and it’s a free to start game, which we all know what that means. The best news is we’re getting Gen VIII in late 2019.

Good. Because I don’t see myself actually buying any of those games. They sound downright skippable.

All three feature Kanto Pokémon. The Let’s Go! games are basically just Yellow spin-offs, with features removed. (Apparently, there are no wild Pokémon battles in these.) None of them appeal to me all that much, so I’m thinking that I’m better off just waiting for next year. I have no idea how much either of the Let’s Go! games will cost; anything over $30 seems excessive. But I could be wrong.

At least I can wait awhile on the next generation. I still have a few things to do before Generation VIII. That will keep me busy for a while.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
