Remember that time he fought Optimus Prime and he was on fire? The Fallen, I mean.
Wait, wrong film. We’ll get to that, but expect no spoilers; you have to see it for yourself.
On Wednesday, Prime and I took in another Timber Rattlers game. We got there fairly early, with a Cedar Rapids Kernels pennant in hand, so I could grab some autographs.
Before you ask, I got a decent amount. We have a game in August and I plan on bringing it back for another run.
The weather was beautiful, a real change from Monday, when it was overcast and chilly. That evening was downright pleasant, to be honest.
A shot of the Bratzooka. Prime and I weren’t lucky enough to score free eats. Sucks to be us.
However, something made up for that. And I’m holding it.
We got a game used ball. Talk about luck with that.
At one point, one of the Kernels players tossed a baseball at a guy standing near the dugout. The guy dropped it and it rolled down to our row. The guy shrugged and said, “You guys can have it.” Prime sat up, reached out and claimed it. So this is our first ever game used baseball that the two of us scored at Fox Cities Stadium.
Before you ask: yes, I cradled that ball as if it were the most precious item on the planet. I’m not kidding.
Although Prime and I were lucky, the Rattlers weren’t: the game ended 4 – 3, Kernels.
Which leads me to this:
Prime had tickets to last night’s game, but it was rained out. We have tickets to tonight’s game–it’s gorgeous today–and last night’s affair will be part of the action tonight. The Rattlers will play a double header against the Burlington Bees and since it’s easier for Prime to get me to the stadium on this side of town, I saw Avengers: Endgame.
As I’ve said, no spoilers but if you think you’re ready for this, I can assure you that you are not. There’s a lot to take in and the feels. Sweet Primus, the feels…!
Literally the only movie playing anywhere. Ever. My showing was at 11.
Yes, it lives up to the hype. Some things are left very open and I’m thinking they’ll be resolved later. That’s all I’ll say for now.
Now, I’m at Culver’s, having lunch. In about an hour I’ll be at Fox Cities Stadium, taking in 14 innings of baseball. It’s been a full day.
Expect tonight’s game coverage on Monday. I’m going to be too tired to blog later.
