You have no idea.
Okay, so today I had a doctor’s appointment; things are fine with the “Troublemakers” as I’m now calling them. I’ll be needing a mammogram in the not-too-distant future but I don’t need another MRI until 2021. So on that front, I’m good.
Now, I got to my appointment early and was seen early so you’d think that I didn’t have any trouble afterward.
You’d be wrong.
I hopped the route 7 and headed to Oshkosh proper; from there, I could catch the 10, get back to Neenah, hop the 41 and get to work. Easy peasy. At least, that’s what I thought. Reality didn’t turn out that way. At. All.
I got to the Oshkosh transit center, waited for the 10 and when I saw it approach at 10:45, I raced over to board… only to be waved off by the driver. According to him, he was “on break”. So he dropped off his lone passenger and left.
You are reading that correctly. The driver basically just left me waiting at the transit center. I was too damned stunned to say anything. But it gets better!
The 10 finally rolled up again… at 11:50. I had been sitting at the transit center since 10:25. Yeah. “Not fucking happy” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Holy shit, I was utterly livid. By the time I got to Neenah, I was irritated, exhausted, and just wanted to go back home and sleep. But I couldn’t, since I was working. Instead, I had to drag my tail onto the 41, get to my usual stop, and walk to work. Wonderful. Just effing wonderful.
Apparently, the Oshkosh transit system has a Facebook page. They monitor it during operating hours. I’m going to be leaving them a review tomorrow and it will not be a positive one. And I have to be completely honest here: I really don’t know if I want to use Oshkosh transit again. This was a pretty major fail in my book; it was only alleviated by the fact that I was working a later shift. If I had been due in earlier, I might have been screwed.
Or to put it another way: it’s just one of those days. You know the kind. I hope tomorrow is better. (Ugh, I just should have stayed in bed!)
