Fire and Rain

Remember, guys: do not try this indoors. Or was it at home…? I forget.

Last night, we got a slight sprinkling of rain. It wasn’t a lot. At most it dampened the ground and raised the humidity. Although the skies looked rather threatening at some points last evening, nothing really came of it. I can’t say that I’m terribly upset over that; I might have welcomed the rain but I’m also more than a little tired of seeing overcast skies. That’s not helping my current mood at all.

I’ve been playing a lot of Pokémon Crystal lately. It keeps my mind occupied and gives me something to do. I’ve gotten my seventh badge and I’m now clearing out the Radio Tower of Rocket grunts in Goldenrod City. My team ranges from level 34 to level 38, respectively. When I’m done with Team Rocket, I’ll do some training and get everyone up to level 50. Then it’s off to the Whirl Islands and parking in front of Lugia until it sparkles. Yes, I already have a shiny Lugia on SoulSilver, but I want to try for another one. The more, the merrier. I also plan on resetting for a shiny Celebi later on but that won’t happen for a while yet.

Prime’s going to switch our Timber Rattlers tickets today. I can’t make it on Friday–which sucks because Zach Davies is rehabbing that day so he’ll be in Fox Cities Stadium–and I have zero interest in going. We’re going to nab tickets for July 2nd, as I’m off that day. Normally, I’d be beyond upset, missing a Rattlers game and missing the chance to see one of my Brewers up close and personal, but right now, I can’t be sussed to care. The idea of going to a game just feels overwhelming, like it’s too much for me. I don’t want to sit in the ballpark. I just don’t want to be there. I can’t get excited about the game, and that worries me.

Today is Toys R Us’s last day. According to the local newspaper, the store in Grand Chute will shut down today. I’m going to try and head over there, to snap a few pictures, if I can. At least I’ll have those.

About Silverwynde

I'm a Transformers fan, Pokémon player, Brewers fan and all-out general nerd. I rescue abandoned Golett, collect as many Bumblebee decoys and figures as I can find and I've attended every BotCon--official and non--since 1999. I'm also happily married to a fellow Transfan named Prime and we were both owned by a very intelligent half-Siamese cat, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 16, 2018. We still miss him. But we're now the acting staff of a Maine Coon kitty named Lulu, who pretty much rules the house. Not that we're complaining about that.
